The Long Awaited First Post

Here comes the entrance to the blogging world in honour of the recent relocation to Shanghai, China. It seemed a logical communication medium to keep folks back home up to date on the latest adventures/nonadventures. So, to practice I'm posting some of the tomfooleries that occured pre-departure. Most people (I assume) would post these chronologically, but I'm posting them according to their level of difficulty. A sort of blogging training ground if you will. So the first is light on the picture department and heavy on the text.

On the second to last weekend in Canada Dave, Jordan and I made a bicycle trip from London to Wildwood Conservation Area, where we met up with Marcus, Fil, Ryan and Blair coming down from Waterloo. The next day we carried on to the Pinery, a trip which turned out to be slightly longer than expected. I blame poor calculations by google maps. Unfortunately, due to poor route planning the final day of cycling to return to abodes in Waterloo and London was the longest. This turned out to be slightly challenging as post (or in some cases during) ride experiences invariably involved copious consumption of the finest brew the beer store could provide. A vigorous ride is still not a cure for a mild hangover.

All in all the trip was most successful. The first day's ride for the London crew was nice and light. So light, in fact, that we showed up at the campsite by 2 or so. And seeing as our gear was coming vehicles later, we were left with little to do but drink the case of beer that we'd picked up in St. Mary's. This made for an early evening for some (see below)
